context

In January 2018 for the first time, I joined the popular culture of new years resolutions.

It felt promising at first then a few weeks later, I was on a very different track than my new year's ambitions. I've watched this happen consistently to me each following year and have heard many other people complain about it as well.

After seeing the OKR method being successfully implemented at my startup, I decided to apply the principles to my own life as a solution to this problem, but couldn't find a tool to help me to it. I decided to build it myself.

the product

I had already been using Notion, a "note-taking app", for a lot of personal tasks ranging from journaling to planning my projects. I decided to use it here as well, to build something simple and custom.

Seichō is a Notion dashboard that allows its users to set clear goals for the new year and track progress at every step towards achieving them.

Seichō helps you define quarterly goals and associate them with metrics quantifying their success. It comes with with features like monthly planning, weekly and daily task management, and a nice dashboard that shows progress visually.

The ideal user for Seichō is someone who has high interest for productivity, is a Notion fan or active user and who feels the need to organize their lives better.
